This is a time of big change for me, and among these is a long-term migration away from Adobe and towards Affinity and CSP (yeah, screw the monthly subscription fees), and a long search for a good alternative to a Wacom Cintiq tablet.
Every time I update the drivers on my Wacom tablet, it seems to get worse. I burn with the white-hot rage of a thousand suns that this idiotic "touch" functionality does not and HAS never worked properly. Every time I put pen to tablet, apparently the Cintiq believes that what I want to do, instead of drawing a line, is "Zoom in and out randomly and rotate to a bizarre angle for no reason." Why that command is built in, I don't know, but I can't turn it off without disabling touch functionality altogether, which is idiotic, but the only workaround I have left. My inquiries to Wacom have resulted in the helpless response "Yeah, that ought not to happen." Thanks, guys.
So I'm in the market for good alternatives. So to my fellow digital artists - what do you use? Have you found the secret sauce that gets Wacom Cintiq tablets to stop acting like they were assembled by monkeys? Do you have an alternative that works well without all the bullcrap? Inquiring artists want to know.
